Polecat gives risk functions an outside-in view of the external forces acting on their organisation, quantified as a Risk Index by entity, risk and peer with severity and likelihood in a form the register can take directly. Scores are projected one to six months forward under best, base and worst case, giving teams early warning weeks before an issue reaches the register or the front page.

Polecat provides strategic external intelligence that lets risk functions see around corners. It builds the external risk intelligence layer that GRC, ERM and IRM platforms consume, quantifying the outside forces acting on an organisation as a Risk Index scored by entity, risk and peer set.
Every value carries severity and likelihood in a form the risk register can take directly, along with a forward projection of one to six months under best, base and worst case. Data is drawn from over 1.4 million premium sources with provenance preserved back to source, so anything entering the register remains traceable and auditable.
Delivery is by REST API, scheduled feed or direct platform integration. Clients use Polecat to populate the external risk categories internal control data cannot reach, including geopolitical, regulatory, supply chain, environmental and reputational exposure, and to give those categories a measurable trajectory rather than a static periodic rating.
In insurance and reinsurance, Polecat data underpins actuarial work on reputational and external risk exposure. Underwriters use the Risk Index to price and assess reputational risk cover where no established loss history exists, and to monitor exposure across a book after binding.
